The Legend#
The D’Ale Cup is no ordinary trophy. Assembled from unconventional materials, it is a monument to the spirit of Derby and Ales — resilience, creativity, and the inability to pass up a good deal.
Construction#
The base of the Cup — a stout pedestal of mystery wood (clearance rack, 40% off) — represents the unwavering foundation of the club’s spirit: resilience, creativity, and the inability to pass up a good craft store deal.
Mounted atop the pedestal sits a mangled pinewood derby car from the club’s inaugural 2019 season, nicknamed “Magic Man.” Legend has it the driver crashed so badly they swore never to build again, instead immortalizing their shame by holding up the trophy for all eternity.
The chalice itself was sourced from a flea market. It originally bore a Playboy bunny logo, which has since been covered with the club’s official emblem. A license plate scrap completes the assemblage.

Sacred Traditions#
Champions of the D’Ale Cup must uphold these sacred duties:
- Drink from the Cup immediately upon winning
- Inscribe their name on the wooden base
- Display the Cup during the offseason
- Protect it from damage or theft

The Prophecy#
It is written that one day, a Final Champion shall arise — one whose car embodies the Spirit of D’Ale: reckless, magnificent, and slightly off-center. On that day, the Cup shall ascend to the Great Taproom in the Sky, and all who have raced shall be remembered.
Until then, we race on.
